Batman: Arkham Unhinged (2011): Vicki in Wonderland

Spoiler Warnings for those who haven't read Batman Arkham Unhinged (2011) #23,24 and 25. (Character profiles, transcripts and individual title reviews will also be created after this post is uploaded.)

The Mad Hatter wakes up after being knocked out by Batman (Batman Arkham City- Through the Looking Glass side mission) and finds his crushed hat. He states that he should have been looking for Alice rather than going after Batman and decides to throw not only a search party for her, but also a tea party. Although upon looking at his hat, he realises he is not properly dressed and says he knows where he can find another hat.

Vicki Vale is walking through the dark of Arkham City, after her news helicopter had been shot down. She states that she knows there is a story about this place and tells herself to keep it together and not be so jumpy, but is surprised by two "G.C.P.D Officers" who tell her they are to take her to a "safe zone." She asks if they know if Jack Ryder made it to the "safe zone," but they are confused. They suggest to her that they have a long walk and they must go. She begins to make a mock interview on her phone, telling them the people of Gotham will want to hear there stories  and asks them many questions. She is more than suspicious when one of the officers reacts weirdly to a question about the use of drugs and before she can look around to see where she has been taken to, she is knocked out by chloroform. The officers remove their helmets to reveal that they are the criminals TweedleDee and TweedleDum. They pick her up stating that they mustn't be late.

Vicki wakes up in the Bowery Hat Shop, where she is confused why someone is calling her "Alice" and she gasps as she finds herself wearing completely different clothes to what she was wearing before. The Mad Hatter shows her reflection in the mirror, stating that he dressed her himself. She calls him "slimy... perverted", but he ignores this, leading her through into the other room where he has prepared a table for all his guests. The ladies present (Selina Kyle and Jenna Duffy among them) make threats as Hatter as he seats Vicki down and tells her to drink.

Meanwhile Batman goes to Baudelaire's, where plant spores and vines are causing danger on Arkham City, with increased pollen counts affecting toxicity in the air. Oracle asks how he is doing, showing her footage of Vicki Vale and her "escort" and saying that she does not recognise the G.C.PD to be officers. She also says she that was the only footage she could get, due to Hugo Strange being able to trace the signal and shut down the feed. She asks if Penguin has anything to do with the "G.C.P.D" as it occurred during the Bowery district, but Batman comes across a half drunk cup of tea next to a rose, knowing where to look first.

Batman arrives at the Hat Shop, defeating TweedleDee and Dum who are outside, before going inside. He is greeted by the March Hare, who tells him that the shop belongs to the Wonderland Gang and that he will have to leave, setting the rest of the gang on him. Batman easily defeats the Lion, Walrus and Unicorn, but is affected by a gas that the Mad Hatter had synthesised from Scarecrow's fear toxin (his own recipe), asking him where his invitation to the party was. Batman berates himself for getting caught off guard and is set upon by Poison Ivy, Catwoman and The Carpenter, dressed in Wonderland-esk costumes.

Mad Hatter toasts Batman before he leaves the fight. Batman is struggling with his body and his mind, one affected by the Titan blood, the other affected by Fear Gas. Batman also has to find away to fight them without hurting them as he knows they are just under the Hatter's control. He is finally confronted by a "Jabberwocky", but using a Sonic Batarang knocks it's hat off and causes it to fall through the Hat Shop's Wall into the streets below. Batman finally injects himself with a cure to the fear gas he keeps in his utility belt.

He waits for the women to get ready so he can help them if he can. He is surprised by the Carpenter's appearance as she had been escaping Gotham, before being caught by Tyger Guards. He asks her what she is going to do know and she replies that due to the destruction in Arkham City, there will be plenty for her to do especially after hearing about a repair that Poison Ivy needs to her "base." Batman goes to find Ivy, but she has slipped away, leaving behind a rose on the table. Catwoman jokes, asking if it was for her and flirts with him, which he ignores, causing her to say it was "his loss" and leaves. That finally leaves Officer Ruiz of the G.C.P.D and Vicki Vale, who thank Batman for his help. Vale tells her that they are going to the Church, which is being used as a safe house. Ruiz tells Batman that she will make sure that a "real police escort" will get her there safely. Before they leave, Vicki asks what will happen to the Mad Hatter.

Batman tells her that he is out there somewhere in Arkham City, looking for his Alice.

However he stumbles across Killer Croc in the sewers and after escaping from him, is forced to run from a group of very angry inmates, who have just removed their "rabbit" masks.
